Asian Law and Society Association Annual Conference

Law, Crisis, and Revival in Asia 17-18 September 2021

Call For Papers

Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Law, is pleased to host the 2021 Asian Law and Society Association (ALSA) Conference.

The world is facing multiple crises ranging from trade tensions, political conflicts, rising inequalities, climate change to the worst pandemic in a century. Across the world and within Asia, these crises reveal deep structural problems and vulnerabilities in our interconnected societies and invite our search for new opportunities and a chance of revival. What is the role of law in addressing these unprecedented challenges and charting a path forward?

The 2021 ALSA Conference invites scholars to submit paper proposals on the conference theme or any other topic concerning the relationship between law and society in any part of Asia. Founded in 2015, ALSA provides a platform to define the field, advance theory, and cultivate empirical work and new scholarship on Asian law and society.
