ALSA has an annual membership. Everyone is welcome to join. 

ALSA membership entitles you to discounted conference rates at our annual meetings and discounted subscription to the Asian Journal of Law and Society. 

The rates are: 

• JPY3,000 (about US$30) for a regular membership; 

• JPY1,500 (about US$15) for a student membership (please email a PDF of your student ID to alsa_office@yahoo.co.jp  to qualify for this membership category); 

• JPY1,500 (about US$15) for a special membership for scholars who are institutionally based in low and lower-middle income countries based on the World Bank’s classification (please email a PDF of your institutional ID or the URL of your official institutional profile to alsa_office@yahoo.co.jp to qualify for this discount);

•  JPY60,000 (about US$500) for a one-time fee for lifetime membership.

Payment is by credit card only. Payment made in November or December will cover membership for the following year as well, e.g. payment made on 15 November 2021 will cover membership for the rest of 2021 and the entirety of 2022.
